Although these dimensions change but the change is not rapid, therefore called “Slowly” Changing Dimensions. There can be many examples. For a young customer who is single, then after a while the customer gets married. After sometime there are children, in unfortunate cases the marriage breaks so the customer is separated or the husband dies and the customer becomes a widow. This just does not typically happen overnight but takes a while. Another example is inheritance, consider the example of land. Over a period of time the land changes hands, is split because of inheritance or its size increases by buying. Again things don’t happen overnight, but take a while, hence slowly changing dimensions. | ||||||
