Intended Readers: All students who are enrolled in CS619 (Final Project).

If a student opts to take a new project, and want to discard old project, it must be according to following rules:

1) To change existing project, a student must spend at least two (2) semesters in it. For example, if a student has taken a new project in Spring 2014, then this student cannot take a new project in Fall 2014 as Fall 2014 will be second semester in existing project.

2) As discussed on General Announcements page, a project must be completed in at least two regular semesters, so if a student takes a new project, it must be completed in two regular semesters. For example, if a student has taken CS619 course for the first time in Spring 2014, and this student wants to discard old project and take new project in Spring 2015, then this new project must be completed in two semesters [Spring 2015 will be considered first semester in new project].

3) First priority is for fresh students in the project course, to take up a new project. So for any reason if an old student is unable to take up a new project, such student can continue same project or drop CS619 course (in case the course add/drop date is still available). Thus, in this case student will have to carefully decide about course selection and taking up new project.
